How to reduce vibration during cutting on my Grizzly Lathe?
- RRyan OwensSep 8, 2025
If you're experiencing excessive vibration from the cutting tool or machine components during cutting with your Grizzly Lathe, start by checking if the tool holder is tight enough, ensuring there's no debris preventing a secure fit. Also, make sure that the cutting tool isn't sticking out too far from the tool holder; it should not exceed 1/4 of its total length. Adjust the gibs at the affected component. Replace or resharpen the cutting tool if it's dull. Finally, ensure you're using the recommended spindle speed and feed rate.
