Adjusting the Valve Clearance
Note:
• The valve clearance must be
adjusted when the engine is cool
to the touch.
• Adjust the valve clearance when
the piston is at TDCC (Top Dead
Center Compression).
Remove：
• lift the cargo bed up
• driver’s seat
• passenger’s seat
• console
1. Remove following parts：
• Valve cover(intake) (1)
• Valve cover(exhaust) (2)
• spark plug cap (3)
• spark plug (4)
2. Remove the cooling fan：
• Fan cover (1)
•
Fan impeller (2)
• Timing inspection covers (3)
3. Rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise
until the timing mark (5) aligns with the
point (4) in the inspection hole.
4. Check Valve Clearance
Valve clearance (cold)
In 0.08 - 0.10 mm (0.0032 - 0.0039in)
Ex 0.08 - 0.10 mm (0.0032 - 0.0039in)
5. Adjust Valve Clearance
• Loosen Locknut (1)
