Checking the
feeder
1 When the GPS antennas are not installed on the same tower as the mini
NodeB antennas, or GPS antennas are installed on the roof, the grounding
requirements for GPS feeders are different from those for mini NodeB
feeders. That is the GPS feeders only need to be grounded to the outdoor
grounding bar at the entrance where they are leaded into the equipment
room. Besides, if the length of the feeder exceeds 60m, the middle parts of
the feeder should be grounded by using lightening protection clips with an
interval of 20m.
1 The “PROTECTED” end of the outdoor lightening arrester (on the side of the
antenna) should be directed to the antenna.
2 The “PROTECTED” end of the indoor lightening arrester (on the side of the
mini NodeB) should be directed to the mini NodeB.
3 The outdoor and indoor lightening arresters should not be grounded.
4 If the indoor lightening arresters are of the iS-MR50LNZ+6 type, the
“PROTECTED” end of the lightening arresters should be connected to the
GPS connectors on the top of the mini NodeB cabinet through a duplex
conversion connector.
Checking the
lightening arrester
5 If the indoor lightening arresters are of the DGXZ+6NFNM-A type, the
“PROTECTED” end of the lightening arresters should be connected to the
GPS connectors on the top of the mini NodeB cabinet directly.
