11 Installing Optional Modules
About This Chapter
This chapter describes the installation of optional modules and the connection between the
optional modules and the external devices.
11.1 Installing the SLPU
The SLPU can work as a protection unit of trunk signals or monitoring signals. This section
describes the procedure for installing the SLPU that is used to protect monitoring signals. The
SLPU used to protect monitoring signals is installed below the BBU, occupying a 1 U space.
11.2 Installing the EMUA
This section describes the installation of the EMUA in various scenarios and the cable connection
between the EMUA and the external devices.
11.3 (Optional) Installing a AC Heater
This section describes the procedures for installing a heater and related cables in a TMC11H.
Heaters may be required in a TMC11H based on actual requirements.
11.4 (Optional) Installing the GPS Surge Protector
This section describes the procedure and precautions for installing the GPS surge protector and
related cables.
11.5 Installing the DDF
The Digital Distribution Frame (DDF) cable distribution includes the distribution of alarm cables
and E1/T1 cables. The cabling principle for alarm cables is left cable inlet and left cable outlet.
The cabling principle for E1/T1 cables is right cable inlet and right cable outlet. The cabling
principle for all cables is top cable inlet and bottom cable outlet.
11.6 Replacing the Fuse
When certain power equipment, which has high current requirements, is connected to a DC
output port on the EPS subrack, the fuse on the port need to be replaced if it cannot meet the
high-current requirement. Replacing the fuse that controls the port for supplying power to the
BBU disrupts all the services carried by the base station.
