11.5 Installing the DDF
The Digital Distribution Frame (DDF) cable distribution includes the distribution of alarm cables
and E1/T1 cables. The cabling principle for alarm cables is left cable inlet and left cable outlet.
The cabling principle for E1/T1 cables is right cable inlet and right cable outlet. The cabling
principle for all cables is top cable inlet and bottom cable outlet.
Prerequisite
The tools and materials, such as an IDC tool , a screwdriver, and a DDF, are ready.
Context
l The 1 U DDF can be installed in the reserved space in the 19-inch cabinet.
l On the digital modules: a, b and s indicate the following positions:
– a and b indicate the terminating positions of signal cables.
– s indicates the terminating position of protection grounding cables.
Procedure
Step 1 Connect the twisted pair cables at the side of the DDF. Connect the other end of the twisted pair
cables to BBU.
