Replacing
a
PCI
Adapter
Divider
To
replace
an
adapter
divider,
do
the
following:
1.
If
you
are
replacing
a
long
PCI
adapter
divider
that
should
contain
light
pipes,
do
the
following:
a.
Identify
the
correct
slots
for
the
light
pipes
on
long
PCI
adapter
divider.
b.
Carefully
place
the
light
pipes
into
the
correct
slots
of
the
long
PCI
adapter
divider.
2.
Locate
the
PCI
adapter
divider
slot
you
want
to
use.
3.
Carefully
grasp
the
adapter
divider
by
its
top
edge,
and
align
the
adapter
divider
with
the
grooves
at
the
front
and
rear
of
the
system.
4.
Press
the
adapter
divider
into
place.
5.
If
necessary,
replace
the
PCI
adapter
cards
as
described
in
“Replacing
or
Installing
a
Non-Hot-Pluggable
PCI
Adapter”
on
page
296.
6.
If
you
are
replacing
or
installing
a
short
adapter
divider,
continue
to
the
next
step.
If
you
are
replacing
or
installing
a
long
adapter,
do
the
following:
a.
Close
and
latch
the
PCI
adapter
light-pipe
plate
attached
to
the
fan
tray.
b.
Note
the
guide
grooves
located
toward
the
front
of
the
system
in
the
disk
drive
backplane,
and
align
the
adapter
divider
correctly.
7.
Replace
the
service
access
cover
as
described
in
“Replacing
the
Model
6C3
Service
Access
Cover”
on
page
288
or
“Replacing
the
Model
6E3
Service
Access
Cover”
on
page
289.
8.
Return
the
system
to
the
operating
position
as
described
in
“Returning
the
Model
6C3
to
the
Operating
Position”
on
page
285
or
“Placing
the
Model
6E3
into
the
Service
and
Operating
Position”
on
page
286.
9.
Reconnect
the
power
source
to
the
system.
10.
Start
the
system
as
described
in
“Starting
the
System”
on
page
283.
