Operator Panel and Power Cable
The following procedures describe the removal and replacement of the operator panel and power cable.
Before performing the following procedures, read the “Safety Notices” on page xi.
Note: If the operator panel is disconnected from the system while the system is connected to the power
source, the operator panel will show a scrolling icon and will not boot when it is reconnected to the
system. Ensure the system is disconnected from the power source when the operator panel is
connected to the system.
Removing the Operator Panel
To remove the operator panel, do the following:
1. Stop the system as described in “Stopping the System” on page 282.
2. Disconnect the power source from the system.
Note:
This system may be equipped with a second power supply. Before continuing with this
procedure, ensure that the power source to the system has been completely disconnected.
3. Place the system into the service position as described in “Placing the Model 6C3 into the Service
Position” on page 284 or “Placing the Model 6E3 into the Service and Operating Position” on page
286.
4. Remove the front bezel as described in “Bezels” on page 291.
5. Locate the operator panel, as shown in the following illustrations.
6. Remove the operator panel by pressing the locking tabs located on either side of the panel, grasping
the edges of the panel, and pulling it out of its bay.
7. Disconnect the operator panel power cable from the back of the operator panel.
