Hot-Swappable Rear Blowers
Removal
1. Remove the rear cover (see “Covers” on page 494).
Refer to “AC Box Assembly and Rear Blowers (Rear View)” on page 550 for blower
parts and perform the following steps:
2. Remove the rear blower EMC shield.
3. On the operator panel, do the following:
a. Select function 7.
b. Press the Enter button.
c. Select function 0702.
d. Press the Enter button.
e. Select 07Fx where x is the blower to be powered off (0=blower 1, 1=blower 2,
2=blower 3, 3=blower 4).
f. Press the Enter button. The green LED on the blower will turn off.
4. Remove the blower assembly.
5. The new blower will automatically power on when it is installed.
Replacement
Replace in reverse order.

Before performing these procedures, read “Safety Notices” on page xiii.
This procedure applies when you are removing or replacing the following cards:
v Processor card
v Memory card
v Processor regulator card
v Clock/processor regulator card
v I/O hub card
Removal
Attention: All cards are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (see “Handling
Static-Sensitive Devices” on page 491).
1. Power off the system (see “Powering Off and Powering On the System” on
page 492).
2. Disconnect the ac power cord.
3. Remove the front or rear cover to access the card you are replacing (see “Covers”
on page 494).
4. If you are replacing a card in the front of the system:
a. Refer to “System Rack Locations Front” on page 17 for card locations.
b. Continue with step 6 on page 497.
