AUXILIARY TIMERS No Default settings
If an Auxiliary output needs to be timed, these Addresses set the time period that the Auxiliary will remain on
when activated.
Auxiliary Number: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Timer Address: 832 833 834 835 836 837 838 839 840 841
A value of 0 means that no timer will operate, and the Auxiliary will only be controlled as per the settings of
options 2 & 3 in the “Auxiliary Response” programming.
Second timer: If the timer is required to time from 1 to 255 Seconds, program the second value and ensure
that Option 4 in the “Auxiliary Response” programming is not selected.
Minute timer: If the timer is required to time from 5 to 255 Minutes, program the minute value and ensure
that Option 4 in the “Auxiliary Response” programming is selected.
(If a timer value of 1 to 4 Minutes is required, program the timer in Seconds)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Any Auxiliary that has been programmed as an Auxiliary Event Type 17 to 32, 34 & 57
should have an Auxiliary Timer programmed.
AUXILIARY RESPONSE Default = All Auxiliaries: Options 2 & 3 Selected.
This Address sets the way each Auxiliary will respond when the programmed event occurs.
User Control. Note that all Auxiliaries can also be Controlled &/or Tested by “Master” Users via NEXT 24
“Auxiliary Control & Test” Mode.

Response Address: 848 849 850 851 852 853 854 855 856 857
Option: When Selected:
1 The Auxiliary will function as a “Normally Closed” output. (i.e. Output is inverted)
(The Auxiliaries are “Open Collector” outputs, and normally switch the output to 0V when On)
2 Auxiliary will turn On when event goes valid. Default: Selected for All Auxiliaries.
3 Auxiliary will turn Off when event goes invalid. Default: Selected for All Auxiliaries.
4 Auxiliary Timer will time in Minutes. (The Auxiliary Timer will normally time in Seconds)
Most Auxiliaries can be turned Off by an Auxiliary Timer and/or the Event going Invalid.
This will be determined by the Auxiliary Timer programming and the setting of Option 3 in the Auxiliary
Response Options.
The table below shows how these two programming options effect how the Auxiliary will turn Off.
* Auxiliaries 17 to 32, 34 and 57 - “Zone xx in Alarm”, “Day Alarm” and “Smoke Det Reset”.
Option 3 (Aux Off when event goes invalid) is not relevant for these Auxiliary Event Types and should
not be selected. These Event Types must be turned Off by an Auxiliary Timer.

Zero Auxiliary will be latched On permanently. Auxiliary Off when Event goes Invalid.
Non-zero Auxiliary Off when Aux Timer expires. Auxiliary Off when Aux Timer expires OR
Event goes Invalid. (Whichever occurs first)
