Easestitching
In addition to the regular gathering stitch, this section
offers you a special stitch for easing sleeve tops.
Pull both of the threads about 10 cm ().
Sew a pair of lines, 0.3 cm (1/8˝) apart, along the edge of
the sleeve top.
Pull the bobbin threads to contract the sleeve top
carefully, matching it with the armhole size.
Make sure not to make gathers in the sleeve top.
Gathering
1.
Pull both threads 10 cm (4˝) under and behind the
presser foot (refer to page 27).
2.
Sew two rows of straight stitches 0.6 cm (1/4˝) apart.
Knot the threads at the beginning.
3.
Pull the bobbin threads at the end to gather the fabric.
4.
Knot the threads at the end and distribute the gathers
evenly.
5.
Prepare the fabric to attach the gathering.
Exit the sewing application.
Select Straight Stitch U1.
Set the thread tension to “3.4” and the stitch length to
“2.40” (default settings).
Place the wrong side of the fabric under the
gathering.

Sew the straight stitch between the two gathering
rows.
Remove the two rows of straight stitches.
NOTE:
You may sew the straight stitch under the two
gathering rows to cover the remains of gathering rows.
