MAINTENANCE
Unit Maintenance
Note: Refer to the OEM manual for main-
tenance intervals and service
instructions for the engine.
Daily
1. Check the Unit for Fluid Leaks - Repair
any leakage points found on the unit.
2. Check Engine Oil Level - Add oil as neces-
sary.
3. Check Coolant Level - Add coolant as
necessary.
4. Inspect Water Filter Bags - Inspect the
water lter bags and replace as neces-
sary. Refer to “Filter Inspection” on page
41.
5. Check Power End Oil Level - Add oil as
necessary. Refer to “Checking Power End
Oil Level” on page 70 for instructions.
6. Check Gland Nut Torque - Ensure the
gland nuts are properly tightened for
operation. Refer to “Checking Gland Nut
Torque” on page 51 for instructions.
7. Adjust Water Lubrication System - En-
sure the water is properly adjusted on
pressure fed manifolds equipped with
needle valves. Refer to “Checking the Wa-
ter Lubrication System” on page 27.
8. Inspect Rupture Discs - Ensure the rup-
ture discs are installed and inspect for
damage. Refer to “Rupture Disc Inspec-
tion” on page 52. Verify extra replace-
ment discs are on hand in case of a
rupture.
9. Secondary Filter - Monitor the pressure
on the secondary lter pressure gauge. The
lter pressure must be monitored during
operation to determine lter condition.
Refer to “Secondary Filter (40k Operation
Only)” on page 41 and “Filter Cartridge
Replacement” on page 42 for more in-
formation.
50 Hours
1. Check Pump Drive Belt Tension - Ensure
the belts are properly tensioned per the
tension decal under the belt cover. Refer
to “Checking Belt Tension” on page 72.
2. Uni-Valve Inspection - Inspect the seals
for damage and the valve seats for de-
posits, jetting or other damage. Refer to
“Valve Inspection” on page 68 .
3. Inspect Clutch Breather - Remove the
breather and inspect for dirt and debris.
Clean or replace as necessary.
4. Inspect Pump Breather - Remove the
breather and inspect for dirt and debris.
Clean or replace as necessary.
100 Hours
1. Initial Power End Oil Change - After the
rst 100 hours of operation on a new unit,
change the power end oil. Refer to “Chang-
ing the Power End Oil” on page 71.
2. Inspect Batteries - Inspect the batteries
and ensure the terminals are tight and
protected with a coat of petroleum jelly.
Clean the tops of each battery. Remove
the cell caps and check the electrolyte
level in each cell. If the levels are low, add
distilled water so the uid is well above
the battery plates.
3. Initial Engine Oil Change - Refer to the
engine manual.
4. Initial Stufng Box Lubrication Check -
Remove stufng boxes, clean powerframe
bore, lubricate with anti-seize or petro-
leum jelly, and replace stufng boxes.
500 Hours
1. Regular Power End Oil Change - Change
the power end oil. Refer to “Changing the
Power End Oil” on page 71.
2. PTO Oil Change - Change the oil in the
PTO. Refer to “Changing PTO Oil” on page
72.
