Adjustment procedures
Results of Improper adjustment
1. Loosen the two setscrews
and increase the backlash of the
lower shaft gear
.
(Caution) If the lower shaft gear
has insufcient backlash,
the oscillator
does not swing correctly. In such a
case, refer to "3.-(5) Lower shaft backlash adjustment
and connection/disconnection" and provide a suf-
cient backlash.
2. Thetwosetscrews
and the two setscrews
should have
been loosened in advance. In this case, the second screw of the
setscrews
and
shouldbeloosenedrst.Then,therstone
can be loosened.
3. Adjusttheclearanceto8.5to9.0mmbetweentheoscillator
and the frame, and decide the positioning of the oscillator
.
4. Tightenthetwosetscrews
andthenxthemsothattheoscil-
lator
is not displaced.
(Tightentherstscrewrstsothatitcomesincontactatlywith
the oscillator shaft
.Then,tightenthesecondone.)
5. Tightenthetwosetscrews
andxtheoscillatorarm
.
(Tightentherstscrewrstsothatitcomesincontactatlywith
the oscillator shaft
.Then,tightenthesecondone.)
6. Refer to "3.-(3) Crank connecting rod connection/disconnection"
and decide the positioning of the crank rod.
7. Makebacklashadjustmentforthelowershaftgear
, according
to"3.-(5)Lowershaftbacklashadjustmentandconnection/dis-
connection".
(Caution) 1. In the case of disassembly and adjustment, grease
up treatment is always needed for the specied
places (2 positions) and the gear area A of the os-
cillator
.
2. When the crank rod (under-cam) is removed, ac-
tions for oscillator gear positioning must be taken,
without fail.
Refer to "3.-(3) Crank connecting rod connection/
disconnection".
o
Ifthepositionforxingtheoscil-
lator
isinadequate,thiscan
also be a cause of the frictional
wear or lock-up of the oscillator
pin, crank rod lid, under cam,
and the crank rod.
Adjustment procedures
Results of Improper adjustment
1. Loosen the setscrew
and remove it.
2.Whentheadjustingscrew
istightened,thequantityofoilcan
be regulated for the lubrication pipe left
.
3.Afteradjustments,tightenthesetscrew
toxit.
(Caution) 1. In the state of standard shipping, the hook lubri-
cation reducer
is positioned so that it is lightly
tightened and then return-loosened by 4 turns.
2. When reducing the oil amount, the screw should
not be tightened up fully. Tighten the hook lubrica-
tion reducer
and then return it by two turns. In
this position, wait for half a day to see how it goes.
Too much reduction can be a cause of hook wear.
o
If the amount of hook lubricant
is reduced too much, this can be
a cause of frictional wear of the
hook race plane or lock-up.
