19.8 Cleaning the oil screens
Warning
Danger of scalding Engine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
– Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety gloves. In case of burns, rinse immediately with lukewarm water.
Warning
Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
– Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.
Preparatory work
– Place a suitable container under the engine.

Main work
– Remove screw plug 1 with oil screen 2 and the O-rings.

– Remove screw plug 3 with oil screen 4 and the O-rings.
– Completely drain the remaining engine oil.
– Thoroughly clean the parts and sealing area.

– Position oil screen 2 with the O-rings.
– Mount and tighten screw plug 1 with the O-ring.

Plug, oil screen M20x1.5 15 Nm

– Position oil screen 4 with the O-rings.
– Mount and tighten screw plug 3 with the O-ring.
