Instructions for safe assembly
•
Hold the side light adapter firmly
during assembly and disassembly so
that it does not fall onto the XY stage.

The side light adapter 10450711 is not
included in the standard delivery of the
LeicaDVM6.

You do not have to switch off the
Leica DVM6 or the illumination when
installing accessories.

The side light adapter reduces the
distance to the sample.
Assembly

Remove the samples from the XY stage
to prevent possible damage. Rotate the
focus drive downwards to create more room for
assembly.
1. Attach the side light adapter so that it
perfectly fits onto the objective.
2. Lock the side light adapter on the objective
by turning it slightly until it engages. The
side light adapter is detected by the LAS X
software automatically.

Using the side light adapter, light is
directed onto the sample at a shallow
angle. Irregularities in the sample surface (e.g.
waviness or scratches) are accentuated.
