LLDP Transmit Features
NumerousLLDPtransmitoptionsareavailable,includingscheduledand
minimumtransmitinterval,expirationonremotesystems,SNMPtrapnotification,
andthetypesofinformationpermittedtobe shared.
Note: Instackingmode,onlythestackMastertransmitsLLDPinformationforall
theportsinastack.ThestackMACaddressisused
asthesourceaddressinthe
LLDPpackets.
Scheduled Interval
TheCN4093canbeconfiguredtotransmitLLDPinformationtoneighboring
devicesonceeach5to32768seconds.Thescheduledintervalisglobal;thesame
intervalvalueappliestoallLLDPtransmit‐enabledports.However,tohelp
balanceLLDPtransmissionsandkeepthemfrombeingsentsimultaneouslyonall
ports,each
portmaintainsitsownintervalclock,basedonitsowninitializationor
resettime.Thisallowsswitch‐wideLLDPtransmissionstobespreadoutover
time,thoughindividualportscomplywiththeconfiguredinterval.
Theglobaltransmitintervalcanbeconfiguredusingthefollowingcommand:

secondsbetweenLLDPtransmissions.Therangeis
5to32768.Thedefaultis30seconds.
Minimum Interval
InadditiontosendingLLDPinformationatscheduledintervals,LLDP
informationisalsosentwhentheCN4093detectsrelevantchangestoits
configurationorstatus(suchaswhenportsareenabledordisabled).Toprevent
theCN4093fromsendingmultipleLLDPpacketsinrapidsuccessionwhenport
statusisinflux,
atransmitdelaytimercanbeconfigured.
Thetransmitdelaytimerrepresentstheminimumtimepermittedbetween
successiveLLDPtransmissionsonaport.Anyinterval‐drivenorchange‐driven
updateswillbeconsolidateduntiltheconfiguredtransmitdelayexpires.
Theminimumtransmitintervalcanbeconfiguredusingthefollowingcommand:

LLDPtransmissionsonanyport.Therangeis1toone‐quarterofthescheduled
transmitinterval(lldp refresh-interval<value>),upto8192.Thedefaultis2
seconds.
