Toreplacetheheatsinkandfanassembly,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage85.
3.Locatetheheatsinkandfanassembly.See“Servercomponents”onpage25.
4.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.Ifnecessary,removeanyinstalledPCIcardthatmight
impedeyouraccesstotheheatsinkandfanassembly.See“RemovingaPCIcard”onpage95.
5.Disconnecttheheatsinkandfanassemblycablefromthemicroprocessorfanconnectoronthesystem
