◗ When using the electrical remote-controlled tubing clamp, make sure that the arterial line is
accessible and, for reasons of safety, always keep a conventional surgical clamp at hand.
◗ Do not use the tubing clamp until you have read the operating instructions thoroughly and are
familiar with the functions of the device!
◗ Only use PVC tubing with a diameter of 3/8" x 3/32" for the flow sensor.
◗ Position the flow sensor correctly on the tubing. Incorrect positioning can result in incorrect
values.
◗ The tubing system should not be kinked, pinched or contaminated.

◗ The tubing system used must be designed to withstand a pressure of at least 500 mmHg.
◗ The connection cable of the CP5, the drive unit and the flow sensor cable must have blocking
ferrites.
!
◗ In the interest of safety, please ensure that you have an emergency system ready for use and
familiarize yourself with the mounting and functions of the emergency system.
◗ Do not use more connectors or tubing etc. in the tubing system than are necessary for using the
machine in accordance with the regulations. Additional connectors etc. increase the risk of faults.
◗ Ensure optimum ventilation at the fan and fan screens. Insufficient ventilation may cause
overheating.
◗ Modifications or extensions to the system, as well as the use of accessories or spare parts which
have not been tested and approved by LIVANOVA DEUTSCHLAND GMBH may negatively influence
the safety and function of the system. In such cases, LIVANOVA DEUTSCHLAND GMBH cannot
accept any liability or responsibility.
◗ Proof must be provided for accessories and supplementary devices that have not been tested and
approved by LIVANOVADEUTSCHLAND GMBH, that their use does not represent a safety hazard.
2.2.4 Electrical safety
◗ The electrical installation must be carried out in accordance with DIN VDE 0107 (for Germany),
otherwise the relevant national standards and regulations apply. Please observe the technical
specifications!
◗ The pump control panel must always be switched off when the drive unit is being connected/
disconnected.
◗ Check the operational safety of all electrical connections, cables and sockets on a regular basis!
