3.2 Service-relevant assemblies
As you can see from the previous list of components, certain assemblies of the CP5 cannot be repaired
separately by a service technician on site. Therefore please take note of the following conditions
before you begin to perform service:
Pump control panel
On-site repairs can be performed by replacement of circuit boards or individual assemblies (e.g. shaft
encoder, connecting cable). The circuit boards themselves should not be repaired on site.
Drive unit
Adjustment of the mechanical components requires precision instruments and test equipment that the
local service technician does not have at hand. Therefore the following faults cannot be eliminated
directly and require replacement of the drive unit:
◗ Defective motor
◗ Defective Hall effect sensor
◗ Mechanical fault (e.g. defective bearings, unusual noises during operation)
Emergency system with drive shaft
The restrictions that apply for the drive unit also apply for the emergency system and drive shaft:
mechanical repairs and adjustments cannot be carried out on site. The speed display circuit board can
only be accessed after partial removal of the drive mechanism. For this reason, replacement of the
circuit board is not possible either. You should always replace the complete emergency system and
drive shaft if a fault occurs.
Flow sensor
The sensor does not contain any serviceable components that can be repaired. For this reason, you
should always replace the complete sensor if a fault occurs.
Sensor module
On-site repairs can be carried out by replacing circuit boards. Servicing of the circuit boards
themselves is not permitted. For this reason, you should always replace the complete circuit board if a
fault occurs.
