2.2.5 Safety instructions for routine maintenance
◗ Routine maintenance must only be carried out by qualified personnel.
◗ Always follow the regulations concerning routine maintenance and the prescribed maintenance
intervals in these operating instructions.
◗ Disconnect the CP5 from the overall system before carrying out maintenance and cleaning tasks.
◗ The regulations concerning routine maintenance for the overall system in which the CP5 is used
also apply to the CP5.
◗ Always use recommended cleaning agents.
◗ Repairs must only be carried out by authorised service technicians. Only original spare parts from
LIVANOVA DEUTSCHLAND GMBH may be used in order to guarantee the safe functioning of the
device.
2.2.6 Safety instructions for service technicians
◗ Always use suitable removal and insertion tools in order to avoid bending electrical contacts (e.g.
of connectors) or damaging plugs or socket housings.
◗ Please take care not to damage cables or their insulation on the sharp edges of panels and printed
circuit boards during assembly. Route the cables in a way that prevents them from being pinched
by fasteners or by the edges of panels.
◗ Observe the local (country-specific) configuration of the individual components of the mains power
supply and the associated connection procedures as specified in the wiring diagram in the
appendix.

◗ Please note that it is essential that ESD protective safety measures are taken when working with
components susceptible to ESD. When removing or fitting circuit boards or components
susceptible to ESD, ensure that you use ESD mats, wrist straps, or similar.
2.3 Safety features of the device
◗ The CP5 performs a self-test when it is switched on. Check that all LEDs and the beep tone (alert
tone) are functioning correctly.
◗ A visual and/or an acoustic alarm is triggered if a system fault occurs when the device is switched
on.
◗ If a system fault occurs during use, an error message is displayed.
◗ Faults detected during use are displayed on the system panel.
