6. Ensure the clearance between belt (A) and belt guide (B) is
1 mm (1/32 in.).
7. Loosen three bolts (C), and adjust the position of guide (B)
as required.
8. Tighten three bolts (C).
9. Close the endshield. For instructions, refer to 4.3.2 Closing
Hinged Endshields, page 117.
NOTE:
Readjust the tension of a new belt after a short run-in
period (about 5 hours).
10. Repeat the above steps for the opposite end on double-
knife headers.
Removing Untimed Knife Drive Belts
The untimed knife drive belt removal procedure is the same for both sides of a double-knife header.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator’s seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the
machine for any reason.
1. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Open the endshield. For instructions, refer to 4.3.1 Opening Hinged Endshield, page 116.

3. Loosen two bolts (A) securing the motor assembly to the
header endsheet.
4. Loosen the belt tension by turning tensioning bolt (B)
counterclockwise.
