Problem 23
Hydraulic system (any) response is sluggish.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Low hydraulic oil level in reservoir; Low hydraulic oil temperature; Water in hydraulic oil; Wrong oil
viscosity for application; Reservoir shut-off valves are partially closed; Dirty charge filters; System
multifunction valves are not set correctly; Pump or motor problem.
CHECKS
Hydraulic oil level in reservoir, reservoir shut-off valves are fully open, and
hydraulic oil above 15
°C (60°F).

With pump in neutral, is system charge pressure
at more than 350 psi (24 bar) on screen?
Fill reservoir to correct level, warm hydraulic
oil to 15
°C (60°F), or open shut-off valve.
Is “suction filter” displayed on system fault screen?
Check and replace suction filter if required.
Adjust charge pressure relief valve for 350 psi (24 bar).
(See Section 2 - Charge Pressure Adjustment).
350 psi Obtained 350 psi not Obtained
System multifunction valves operating at
recommended system pressure.
Adjust or replace faulty valve.
Check for internal leakage at pump and motor.
(See Section 2 - Motor Leakage Test).
Normal High Leakage
Check control pressure at pump ports M4 and M5 and motor
ports M7 and M8. (See Section 2 - Pump Components and
Motor Components).

Consult dealer/factory.
Repair or replace pump EDC
or motor PCP, as required.
