LpA = This value indicates the maximum sound
level perceived by the operator calculated by
making a worst case assessment at the 4 points
around the machine being tested.
Lwa = This value indicates the sound level
outside the machine and refers to the noise
perceived by those who are in the vicinity of the
work area.

• S.I. 2008 No. 1597
Moreover, the LpA values have been taken at greater distances, resulting in 89 dB(A) at five metres and
80 dB(A) at thirty metres.
