4. Electrical Connectors
Electrical connectors consist of plugs, recep
tacles, terminal block snap-in type contacts,
locking type pin connectors, knife splices and
terminal lugs which interconnect harness
assemblies to individual panels and electrical
components.

5. Repair/Replacement of Connectors
Ensure all electrical power is
OFF during repair and/or re
placement of connectors.
NOTE: Use tin-alloy solder (CM815) for all sol
dering operations and appropriate crimping
tool (ST1002) for replacement of removable
crimp-type contacts.
For Deutsche components and special tools
(TB502 and TB503) refer to Figure 203.
(1). Chromel/Alumel Soldering Procedure:
The following procedure defines the
method of soldering the chromel/alumel
materials found in temperature
instruments.
(a). Tin the cup or pin as follows:
1). Apply flux to cup, filling cup.
2). Put solder tip into cup to heat it.
3). Apply solder, filling cup.
4). Neutralize flux (acid) by cleaning
with baking soda and water
solution.
