support. The light contains a three-way switch
with off, dim and bright positions for control
ling light illumination. Rotation of the light
nozzle selects red or white light.
F. Pilot’s Utility Light Replacement
(Ref. Figure 207) Replace pilot's utility light
complying with standard aircraft electrical
repair and replacement practices and proce
dures as follows:
Ensure that all electrical
power is OFF.
(1). Remove heat duct outer box, map case
trim cover and map case.
(2). Disconnect wiring from light assembly
and remove retaining nut that secures
light housing in map case.
(3). Install replacement light assembly in
reverse order of removal.
(4). Check light assembly for correct
illumination.
G. Passenger/Cargo Utility Light
The passenger/cargo utility light is an adjust
able light fixture in the left side of the passen
ger/cargo compartment convenience panel,
above the passenger compartment forward
bulkhead. The switch for the light is adjacent
to the utility light.
H. Passenger/Cargo Utility Light
Replacement
(Ref. Figure 207) Replace passenger/cargo
utility light, complying with aircraft standard
electrical repair and replacement practices and
procedures as follows:
(1). Ensure that all electrical power is OFF.
(2). Remove attaching hardware that
secures the passenger/cargo compart
ment convenience panel to compart
ment trim.
(3). For access to back of panel, pull panel
out sufficiently to disconnect wiring at
splice.
NOTE: Use suitable spanner wrench to loosen
retaining nut.
(4). Remove light housing retaining nut.
Remove housing assembly.
(5). Install replacement light housing in
reverse order of removal. Replace lamp
in socket-mounted type by removing
snap ring that secures lens to lamp
body. Remove lamp in panel-mounted
type by pulling out nozzle assembly.
(6). Check light assembly for correct
illumination.
5. Lighting System Inspection
(1). Inspect visible lengths of wiring for
damage and check that ground termi
nal connections are secure.
(2). Inspect electrical connectors for cracks
and other evidence of damage.
(3). When lamps are removed, inspect base,
lens and retainers for security, condi
tion and moisture accumulation.
