Setting a Media
This machine can be used with a roll media.
For usable medias, refer to P.1-15 "Usable sizes of
media".
Adjusting the Head Height
Adjust the head height according to the thickness of the
media you are using.
• The height of the head can be adjusted in three
steps.
• If you change the height of the head, cleaning may
be performed automatically to prevent nozzle
clogging.

Press
(MENU)
in LOCAL.

Press to select
"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
• Maintenance menu will be displayed.

Press to select "STATION
MAINT.", and press the key.

Press to select "CARRIAGE
OUT", and press the key.
• The carriage moves over the platen.

Open the front cover.

Adjust the height adjustment handle
according to the media.
• Adjust the lever position with reference to the
table below.

Press the key.
• The carriage automatically returns to the station.

Perform dot position correction.
•Since a message prompting dot position
correction is displayed, select "Execute".

Press the key several times to
end the setting.
• Take care not to drop the media on your foot
when setting the media.It may cause an injury
due to the media.
• When setting a roll media, work by two or more
people. Otherwise, you may hurt your back by the
weight of the roll media.
• Adjust the head height prior to setting the media.If
the head height is adjusted after the media is set,
this may cause a media jamming, deterioration of
the print quality or head damage.
• Adjust the head height before setting the media.
Adjusting after setting the media may cause
media jams, poor print quality, or damage to the
head.
• With this machine, you can set media on the right
side or in the center. When setting media, be sure
to set it so that it covers one of the two media
sensors on the back of this machine.
• If setting the media in the center, use the take-up
extension cable.
• The head height is adjustable according to the
purpose of use.
Change the wiper to use according to the height of
the head.
• Low, Mid: Wiper (PN:SPC-0843)
• High: Wiper for HiGap (PN:SPC-0850)
• If the wiper to be used is different, discharge
defects such as nozzle clogging and color mixing
will occur.

Low Low 2.8mm (factory setting position)
Mid 3.3mm
