Replacing the Wiper
When the display indicates the warning message
"REPLACE WIPER", it is necessary to replace the wiper
with a new one as soon as possible.

Press
(MENU)
in LOCAL.

Press to select
"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
• Maintenance menu will be displayed.

Press to select "STATION
MAINT.", and press the key.

Press to select "REPLACE
WIPER", and press the key.

Press to select "CARRIAGE
OUT", and press the key.
• The carriage moves over the platen.

Remove the wiper.
• Pull out the wiper by holding the protrusions at
both ends.

Insert a new wiper.
• Hold the protrusions at both ends of the wiper and
insert it firmly all the way in.
8
Close the front cover, and press the
key.
• After its initial operation, the machine returns to
LOCAL.
Replacing the Wiper Cleaner
Wiper cleaner (PN:SPA-0243) is a consumable item.
Exchange about once a year.

"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
• The MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

Press to select "STATION
MAINT.", and press the key.

Press to select "CARRIAGE
OUT", and press the key.
• The carriage moves over the platen.
Change the wiper according to the height of the
head.
• Low, Mid: Wiper (PN:SPC-0843)
• High: HiGap wiper (PN:SPC-0850)
• If the wiper to be used is different, discharge
defects such as nozzle drop outs and color mixing
will occur.
• If nozzle missing or deflection does not occur after
cleaning, it can be used as it is. But be sure to
replace it if scratches and fluff on the wiper tip.
• The wiper is an optional item. You can buy one
through your local dealer or from our service
office.
