Chapter 4 Maintenance
Waste ink tank man-
agement
Correction of waste ink amount
If an error occurs between the count value of the waste
ink tank and the actual volume, perform error correction.

(MENU)
in LOCAL.

Press to select
"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
The MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

Press to select " Waste ink
tank", and press the key.
Waste ink tank information is displayed.

Press to select "Adjust Waste
Ink Volume", and press the key.
Waste ink tank information is displayed.

Press to select the setting value,
and press the key.
Setting value: 2 to 10 L
Change of tank capacity
If you installed a waste ink tank (2 L to 10 L tank) using
the waste solution expansion kit (SPA-0311), change the
tank capacity according to the capacity of the installed
waste ink tank.

"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
The MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

Press to select " Waste ink
tank", and press the key.
Waste ink tank information is displayed.

Press to select "Tank capacity",
and press the key.
Waste ink tank information is displayed.

Press to select the setting value,
and press the key.
If a Waste Ink Tank Confirmation
Message Appears
Ink that is used for head cleaning is collected in the waste
ink tank on the bottom right side of this machine. This
machine keeps track of the total volume of ink that is
discharged, and displays a confirmation message when a
certain volume is reached. (When this message is
displayed, you should think about replacing the waste
ink tank.)

The warning message "Check waste ink"
is indicated on the display.

Check the waste ink tank.
If the actual volume is not displayed correctly,
perform the operation in Step 3.
If the actual volume is displayed correctly, replace
the waste ink tank.
When you replace (dispose of) the waste tank ink,
perform the procedure in "Replace the waste ink
tank with another". ( P.4-26)

In LOCAL, press the
(MENU)
keys.
The MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

Press to select "Waste Ink
Tank", and press the key.

If it is necessary to adjust the amount of
waste ink, select "Adjust Waste Ink
Volume" and press the key.

Press to adjust the level, press
the key.

Press the key.
Replace the waste ink tank with
another
If the waste ink tank becomes full, use the following
procedure to replace the waste ink tank with another, and
set the waste ink information in the maintenance menu to
0%.
If you replace the waste ink tank before the waste ink tank
confirmation message is displayed (before the 2L tank is
80% (1.6L) full, use the same procedure to replace the
waste ink tank.

"MAINTENANCE", and press the
key.
If you have installed a waste ink tank using the
waste solution expansion kit, display a "Check
Waste Ink" message will be displayed at 80%, and
a "Replace Waste Ink Tank" message will be dis-
played at 90% and the operation will be restricted.
The "Replace Waste Ink Tank" message is dis-
played at 80% (1.6 L) for the standard 2 L tank.
