PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD INSTALLATION
(1) Liberally coat engine oil on the circumference of the piston,
piston ring and oil ring.
(2) Arrange the piston ring and oil ring gaps (side rail and
spacer) as shown in the illustration.
(3) Face t he front mark (arrow) on the top of the piston toward
the camshaft sprocket.
(4) Using a suitable piston ring compressor tool, insert the
piston and connecting rod assembly into the cylinder block.
Caution
Donotstrikethepistoninto thecylinder block because
the piston ring or crank pin will be damaged.

CONNECTING ROD BEARING INSTALLATION
(1) When the bearings are to be replaced, select correct
ones according to the identification marks stamped in
the crankshaft.
