Power supply
Observe the following precautions regarding the power supply.
As a rule, the wiring should be single-phase with two lines and one ground line. (Pay
due attention to the polarity.)
• Be sure to ground (protection grounding) the system. (Class D grounding)
• For information about other specifications, refer to “2.1.5 Power supply” .
* For details about the power supply arrangement, consult with a qualified electrician or
someone with equivalent knowledge.
Grounding
Properly ground the power line used for the main unit of the system. If this system is
integrated with other machines, all the machines should be properly grounded with a
grounded power supply before connecting the signal cables between them.
Power cord
Only use the supplied power cord. If there is something wrong with the power cord or
power connectors, contact Mitutoyo. Defective parts should be replaced by a Mitutoyo
service engineer.
Fuses
To prevent fire or damage to the internal circuits, use only the specified fuse. When
replacing the fuse, use the supplied spare fuse or a fuse with the same shape and ratings
(voltage and current).
Removing the cover and disassembling the machine
This machine is precisely adjusted, and is comprised of high-voltage parts. In order to
prevent accident and to maintain the performance, do not absolutely remove the covers on
the system.
Danger prevention
In order to prevent danger, do not use the machine in locations where volatile gases
could be generated.
Maintenance
Gently wipe off dirt from the machine using a lint-free and soft cloth. If the dirt is
difficult to remove, wipe it clean with a cloth soaked in neutral detergent, then wipe lightly
with a dry cloth or a cloth well-wrung after soaking in water. Do not use organic solvents
such as thinner or benzine.
