Load handling
1
To avoid damaging the hook, lifting
devices must only be positioned on
the load bearing surface of the hook.
That is, the lowest point of the hook.
Forces on ramshorn hooks must be
equal on both load bearing surfaces.
2
Ensure that the hook safety latches
are closed. Check that the safety
latch is not subjected to any force by
the load
3
The weight of the load must be
centered on the center line of the
hook forging so that the load does
not bend the neck of the hook.
Never try to lift anything with the tip
of the hook!
4
Check that the load is balanced and
safely fastened at the lifting points.
The load must not be able to slide,
slip or detach itself when
suspended.
