5.14 CANNOT WRITE DATA
A. Check the WRITE PROTECT output signal (refer to paragraph 5 .8) •
B. Check the Control Electronics PCBA write circuits for correct
signals per timing diagram, Figure 3-8.
5.15 ERASE BAD
A. If no decrease in amplitude is observed after the 15 second period
outlined in paragraph 4.7.2 (Erase Measurement), first try repla-
cing the Control Electronics PCBA (refer to paragraph 4.5.1). If
that doesn't rectify the problem then replace the head/ carriage
assembly (refer to paragraph 4.5.10).
B. If the amplitude decrease is less than 85%, try cleaning the
head(s); then replace the load pad assembly (refer to paragraph
4.5.12).
5.16 DRIVE SPEED UNSTABLE
A. Check for bad spindle bearings by removing drive belt and slowly
rotating spindle pulley manually. If spindle pulley rotates
erratically, replace spindle bearings (refer to paragraph 4.5.13).
B. If spindle speed drifts slowly, replace the Spindle Speed Control
PCBA (refer to paragraph 4.5.1).
