When
the turn
is
completed, the
signal
will
cancel and the lever
will
return to
horizontaL
LANE
CHANGE
SIGNAL-In
some
turns, such as
changing
lanes, the
steering wheel
is
not turned far enough
to
cancel
the
turn signal. For
convenience, you can flash the turn
signal by
moving
the
lever
up to the first
stop (position
"C") for right turns or
down to the first stop (position
"D") for
left turns and holding it there . The
lever
will
return to horizontal when you
release it.
A green light on the instrument panel
flashes to tell you that the front and rear
tum
signal
lights
are
working.
If
the light
stays on, but does not flash, check for
burned-out bulbs.
If
the green light does
not light when the
lever
is
moved, check
the fuse and indicator bulb.
HEADLIGHT
BEAM
CHANGER-With
the headlights on, pull the
tum
signal
lever toward you until a "click"
is
heard.
Then release it. The lights will
change
from low·beam to high-beam or from
high-beam to low-beam.
When
the
high-beam
is
on, a blue light will appear
on the instrument paneL

CRUISE
CONTROL
Oldsmobile
Cruise
Control (optional) is an
automatic speed control system.
It
lets the
driver accurately control car
speed
over
a
wide range
of
operating conditions. Within
engine limitations, a speed of about
30
mph (50 km/h) or higher can be held, thus
increasing comfort and economy on
turnpikes,
expressways
and other
non-congested highways.
The
"ON.QFF" switch
is
located on the
left instrument panel. The engagement
button
is
located in the end
of
the turn
signal
lever .
To Operate-Move the
Cruise
switch to
''ON'' and accelerate the car to the
desired speed.
Push
in
the engagement
button and release it slowly. Take your
foot off the accelerator and this speed
will be maintained up
or
down hill.
NOTICE: For
pasring,
you
can
increase
your
speed
by
pushing down the accelerator pedal.
When
you
take your foot
off
the pedal, the
car
will slow down to the cruiring speed set
prior to the acceleration.
To Reset at a Faster
Car
Speed-
Accel-
erate car to the desired higher speed.
Push in the engagement button fully and
release slowly.
To Reset
at
a
Slower
Car
Speed-Push in
the engagement button fully and
HOLD.
Let the
car
slow
down.
When
car reaches
the
desired
speed,
release the
engagement button slowly.
To Disengage-Apply the brake pedal, or
turn the
Cruise
Control switch off.
