GENERATOR UGHT-Comes on when
the ignition switch is turned
to
"RUN",
but
goes
off
when the engine
is
started.
If
the "GEN" light
ever
comes
on
with the
engine running (even at idle) the charging
system should be checked
as
soon as
possible to prevent the battery from
becoming discharged.
TEMPERATURE GAGE-Indicates cool-
ant temperature, which will vary with air
temperature and operating conditions. The
ignition switch must be in "RUN" for
accurate readings. Hard driving or pro-
longed idling in very hot weather will cause
the pointer to
move
beyond the center
of
the band. Should pointer move
to
the line
at the right end
of
the band, follow the
procedures under "Engine Coolant" in the
"In
Case
of
Emergency" section
of
this
manual.
CAUTION: The radiator cap should
not be removed until the engine is cool '
to avoid danger
of
being burned.
OIL PRESSURE GAGE-Shows the engine
oil pressure when the engine
is
running.
During engine warm·up, indicated oil
pressure will
be
noticeably higher than
when the engine
is
at normal operating
temperature. Should the indicator point
to
the
"0"
at any time during normal driving,
stop
the
engine immediately and
have
the
cause
corrected. Driving the car with low
oil pressure can cause extensive engine
damage.
VOLTMETER-The optional voltmeter
will
show
the state
of
charge
of
your
battery when the ignition is in "RUN" and
the engine is
NOT
running.
When
the
engine
is
running, the voltmeter shows the
condition
of
the charging system_ During
normal car operation, the needle should
stay in the center range
of
the dial.
If
the
needle stays in either the left or right red
area of the dial, the cause should be
determined and corrected.
TRIP METER-The optional trip meter
may be reset by pushing in the reset knob
in the speedometer face and turning it until
all the zeros appear.
FUEL GAGE
AND
BRAKE
LIGHT
-Refer
to the "Instrument Panel" section for
description
of
these units.
TACHOMETER-Shows the speed
of
the
engine in revolutions per minute (rpm).
Engine operations causing the tachometer
needle to move in or above the red area
can
lead to serious engine damage. The pointer
may not return
to
zero when the ignition
is
''OFF
."

This option includes
all
of
the features
of
the Rallye Pack,except a tachometer.
REAR
SWING-OUT
WINDOW
To unlock the optional rear swing-out
window, pull the latch inward. Push rear
of
window outward and secure the latch
in
the open position.
