FUEL
REMINDER
The
low
fuel indicator light will illuminate
the words
"LOW
FUEL." A five-second
tone will also sound when the
fuel
gage
registers about one-sixth full and there
is
less than
five
gallons of fuel in the tank.
28
Normal operation . includes a 30 to 60
second delay, which helps prevent the light
from blinking due to fuel movement in the
tank.
"LIGHTS
ON"
REMINDER
With this option, when the driver's door
is
opened
and
the parking
or
driving lights
are
"ON ," the red "LIGHTS ON" reminder
light will come on
if
the ignition switch
is
in
"OFF".
A fast-pulsed tone will sound as
a reminder.
FUEl
GAGE
The
gage
registers fuel level only with the
ignition switch in "RUN". The needle does
not return to empty with the ignition
"OFF".
Some normal variations in reading will
occur. They are:
• Needle does not move from "full" until
considerable distance (about 50 miles;
80 kilometres) has been driven.
• Tank
is
not empty when needle is on
empty. A 2 to 4 gallon fuel reserve
is
designed into the fuel
gage
system,
• Needle moves when braking, accelerating
or making turns. This is caused by fuel
movement in the tank,
• Needle occasionally indicates less than
"full" after
gas
tank is filled. This will
occur
if
the car
is
not
level
when filled,
or
automatic pump nozzle shuts
off
too
soon.
ENGINE

A red
signal
light "HOT" will come on
briefly when starting the car

is
when the engine reaches an abnormally
high temperature.
If
this happens,

"Engine Coolant" in
the
"In

of
Emergency" section.
When
the engine
is
operating at normal temperature, the light
