SPARE
TIRE-For
the
use
and installation
of
your spare tire, see Section 3 ("In
Case
of Emergency") in this manual.
SNOW
CHAINS-If
your
car
has
P205/70R14 tires installed on it, chains
should not be used because
use
of
chains
could result in damage
to your car.
If
you
do not
have
P205/70R14 tires on your
car
and
purchase conventional
snow
chains,
make certain that the
side
chain fasteners
are
not wider than the
side
chain links;
otherwise, the chains may contact and
possibly damage the wheel wells.
To prevent chain damage
to
your car:
• Install the chains
as
tightly
as
possible,
then tighten again after driving 1/4
to
1/2
mile
(0.4
to
0.8 kilometres).
• Do not exceed
45
mph (70 km/h), or
the chain manufacturer's speed limit,
if
lower.
•
Drive
in a restrained manner and
avoid
large bumps, potholes,
severe
turns
~nd
74
other maneuvers which could cause the
car
to
bounce up and down.
•
Follow
the
chain manufacturer's
instructions.

REPLACEMENT CONSIDER-
ATIONS- You
should replace your tires
when:
1.
Your tires are worn to a point where
2/32 inch (1.6 mm) or less tread
remains
or the cord or fabric is exposed.
To help you detect this, your tires have
built-in tread wear indicators that
appear between the tread grooves when
the tread
is
2/32 inch (1.6 mm) or less.
When
the indicators appear in two
or
more adjacent grooves at three spots
around the tire, the tire should be
replaced.
2. Your tire tread or sidewall is cracked,
cut, or
snagged
deep enough to expose
the cord or fabric.
3.
Your tire has a bump, bulge, or split.
4. Your tire sustains a puncture, cut, or
other injury that cannot be correctly
repaired because
of
the
size
or location
of
the injury.
When
replacing tires, you should
use
the
same
size, load range, and construction
type (bias, bias-belted, or radial)
as
the
original tires installed
on
your car.
Use
of
any other
size
or type tire may affect ride,
handling,
speedometer/odometer
calibration, vehicle ground clearance, and
tire
or
snow
chain clearance
to
the body
and chassis.
If

single
tire,
