delivered through the defroster vents and
10%
through the heater vents. Any blower
speed may be used.
UNUSUAL
OPERATION-Cars driven out
of
heated garages in cold weather, or
cars
parked outdoors overnight that are warmed
by the sun next morning create special
automatic temperature control problems,
since
the sensor or control does not feel
the
in-car air temperature until the system
has operated a short time.
REAR
WINDOW
DEFOGGER
The electric rear window defogger (op-
tional)
is
a heating element
fused
to
the
inside
of
the glass. The unit
is
operated
by
a switch on the upper right instrument
cluster.
It
works only when the switch has
been moved to
"ON." The switch knob
returns
to
neutral and a small light in the
control switch
glows
whenever the heated
rear. window
is
operating. The defogger
is
turned
off
by
moving
the switch to ''OFF''
or
by
turning
off
the ignition. It
is
designed
to automatically
tum
off
after 10 minutes
of
operation.
NOTICE: The system
is
designed to
mrm
the
rear
window sufficiently to
clear
fog. The
window surface
may not feel warm to the
touch. Do not clean the inside surface by
scraping because damage to the element could
result. Avoid placing decals or stickers on the
inside
of
the
window because removal may
require
scraping.
RADIOS
AND
TAPE
PLAYERS
Your Oldsmobile may be equipped with
one of
several
available Delco Sound
Systems.
Although a wide variety of
features is offered, the following basic
controls are common
to
all models.
• Left Knob-This knob turns the set
"On"
or "Off", and controls the
"Volume". (To operate the radio,
ignition
must
be
in "RUN" or
"Accessory.") Behind the "Volume"
knob
is
the "Tone" control.
When
turned clockwise, it increases treble;
when
turned
counterclockwise, it
increases bass.
• Right Knob-This knob is a "Manual
Tuning"
control for selecting radio
stations. For radios equipped with rear
speakers, a
"Fader" control
is
located
behind it. This control adjusts the sound
between front and rear speakers.
• . Pushbuttons-Each radio features
five
pushbuttons with which you can select
your favorite stations. After pushbutton
operation, it may be necessary to
manually
"fine-tune" the radio for best
reception .
To
"set
up"
pushbuttons:
1.
Manually tune
to
the desired station.
2.
Choose the button you wish
to
use. Pull
it straight out, then push it back in
firmly until it stops.
