Stereo

Citizens
Band
Cassettes should be removed from the
player when not in use. They should be
stored away from extreme heat or direct
sunlight.
Best
results are obtained with
cassettes which are
30 or
60
minutes long.
After each
100 hours of use,
or
if
tape
slips
and runs slowly, the capstan (revolving
metal post), pickup head and tape guide
should be . cleaned with a cotton-tipped
swab
dipped in rubbing alcohol. Do
NOT
use
carbon tetrachloride.
CITIZENS
BAND
(CB)
TRANSCEIVERS
If
your
car
is
equipped with one
of
the
optional
CB
Radio units, you should refer
to the separate
CB
Owner's Manual for
38
complete operating and maintenance
instructions.
Operation
of
CB
units may be prohibited
in
some countries.
In
others, operation
of
this equipment requires a special permit
besides the valid station license. (permits
should be obtained before you
leave
the
United States.)
To
operate a
CB
unit in Canada, get a
permit from a regional office
of
the
Canadian Department of Communications.
F;or
information regarding other countries,
contact the local consulates of the
countries in which you plan to travel.
ANTENNAS
WINDSHIELD-The
standard
radio
antenna
is
incorporated in the windshield
glass.
It
is
trouble-free and insulated from
vandalism and traffic grime.
If
necessary,
adjustments
for
maximum antenna
effectiveness can
be
made by your
Oldsmobile dealer.
POWER-The power antenna (optional)
automatically extends when the radio
is
turned on
and
the ignition switch
is
in
"RUN"
or
"Accessory."
It
automatically
retracts when either
is
turned off.
Be
sure
to
lower the antenna
to
prevent
it
from
contacting fixed objects that could
cause
damage.
TRI-BAND-This power antenna (optional)
combines
AM/FM/CB
functions in a single
unit. It eliminates the need for an extra
"ADD-ON"
CB
antenna.
When
the radio
and ignition are turned on, the mast
automatically extends.
As
a major security
feature, it retracts when either the radio or
ignition is turned off.
MOBILE
RADIO
SYSTEMS
Mobile two-way units are subject
to
Federal
Communications Conunission
(FCC) regulations and must be installed by
trained radio people.
Mobile
telephones
installed by your local phone company,
Citizens Band (CB) radios, and
garage
door
openers
will
not affect vehicle operation.
If
any other mobile radio transmitters are
installed, there can
be
possible adverse
effects
on
vehicle operation.
