6.3.2.1 EAN/JAN-13 Add-On 2 Digits/5 Digits
EAN/JAN-13 Add-On 2 Digits/5 Digits is an EAN/JAN-13 barcode with an additional 2-digit or
5-digit barcode to the right of the main barcode. When add-on digits are enabled, the add-on
code must be within the reading range for the barcode to be successfully read. If the add-on
code is not within the reading range, after an add-on waiting time the scan engine reads the
barcode as UPC or EAN.
Note: Reading response decreases when add-on digits are enabled and only UPC or EAN
barcodes are read.
