2.6.2 SOLAR ARRAY CONNECTIONS
ONLY USE THE SUPPLIED PV CONNECTORS.
AS5033 prohibits mixing of PV connector types and brands.
WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD. Solar arrays generate energy even in very low light. Handle cables and connectors
carefully to avoid shock or arcing.
WARNING: ELECTRICAL DAMAGE RISK
Solar arrays must be electrically isolated from each other: Do not bridge arrays, connect in parallel or serial, or
share isolator switches.
Do not connect or disconnect PV while the inverter is ON.
CAUTION: LIGHTNING PROTECTION
The PV arrays in this system must be protected by a Lightning Protection System compliant with
AS/NZS5033:2014.
The SH5000 inverter accepts power from one or two solar
arrays, using dedicated MC4-style connectors on the BoS.
Shorten the PV cable as required to form drip
loops.
Terminate the PV cables using the supplied
connectors. Note polarity assignments: Red is
positive; Black is negative.
Plug the PV cables into the sockets as shown,
ensuring that cables remain paired.
Gently push any excess cable into the cavity
behind the BoS, forming a drip loop.
