Accelerometer placement and connection
Vibration axis
Environmental vibrations are normally measured in two horizontal planes
(front/back and left/right) and one vertical plane. This means that complex
vibration phenomena are reduced to three axes (X, Y, Z), for easier observation.
The axes are de ned as follows (facing the vibration source).
Horizontal front/back: X
Horizontal left/right: Y
Ver tical: Z

Note
In the horizontal plane, the X axis and Y axis will be re-
versed when seen centered on the movement direction of the
