28-12 Sump Valve (continued)
B. Installation
1. Refer to Figure 28-2. Actuate and lock 1250H (sump) valve to expose stem; install
new o-ring in stem seat.
2. Lightly coat valve threads with B270-6 sealant. Remove tape and install valve in
G154-1 outlet assembly: standard torque valve per Section 20-32 and torque stripe
per Figure 5-1.
3. Fit A729-43 tube onto valve; wrap tube with two turns 0.032-inch diameter lockwire
and safety tube to valve.

Refer to R66 Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) Figure 28-1.
CAUTION
Avoid contaminating bladder interior. Cover arms with sleeves
and use lint-free gloves when working inside bladder.
A. Removal
1. Turn BATTERY switch OFF; pull GAGES circuit breaker. Open fueling cowl door.
2. Refer to Figure 28-2. Remove hardware securing G271-1 guard to F250-1 cover
assembly and remove guard.
3. Remove hardware securing F049-04 (fuel quantity sender) electrical harness wiring
to F550-1 sender.
4. Remove hardware securing sender to cover assembly. Carefully pull sender lever
through cover assembly opening. Tape bladder opening, and close fueling cowl
door.
B. Installation
1. Turn BATTERY switch OFF; pull GAGES circuit breaker. Open fueling cowl door.
2. Refer to Figure 28-2. Remove tape and install F550-1 fuel quantity sender and
15-423 gasket (supplied with new sender) in F250-1 cover assembly by carefully
lowering sender lever through opening.
3. Install hardware securing sender to cover. Special torque bolts in criss-cross pattern
per Section 20-33, and torque stripe per Figure 5-1.
4. Install F049-04 (fuel quantity sender) electrical harness wiring on sender studs, install
nuts, and special torque per Section 20-33. Install (different size) palnuts, special
torque per Section 20-32, and torque stripe per Figure 5-1.
5. Calibrate fuel quantity sender per Part C.
