Robotiq Screwdriving Solution - Instruction Manual
Below are the stepsto mount the Screwdriver onto the robot.
Installation on CB-SeriesUniversal Robots
Installation on CB-Seriesrobots requires the FT 300-SForce Torque Sensor and its corresponding hardware and tools.
Please refer to the Quickstart Guide of the FT 300-SForce Torque Sensor provided in the kit.
Otherwise, you can also refer to the user manual of the FT 300-SForce Torque Sensor for further technical information.
1. Mount the coupling onto the robot arm.
l
Align properly with the dowel pin provided in the hardware kit.
l
Secure using M6 screwsand corresponding tooth lock washers
l
Connect the coupling cable to the provided High-flex cable.
2. Mount the Screwdriver onto the coupling.
l
Align properly with the dowel pin.
l
Secure using M5 screwsand corresponding tooth lock washers.
3. Wire the pneumatics.
l
Connect the pneumatic hose to the air supply inlet port (quick-connect).
l
Verify the connection by pulling on the tubing.
l
Run the tubing along the robot arm and to the compressed air source.
l
Leave enough excess tubing to allow full robot movement.
l
Supply the Robotiq Screwdriver with compressed air.
Info
Air supply pressure should be set between 5.5 bar and 7 bar (80 psi and 100 psi) with an optimal pressure set at 7 bar
(100 psi).
4. Select the screwdriving bit that corresponds to your application.
l
Unscrew the coupler locking nut.
l
Unscrew the coupler adjuster.
l
Unscrew the bit holder knob using the provided 1/2 wrenches on the flatsof the bit holder knob and bit holder chuck.
l
Insert the bit into the bit holder chuck until it reachesthe bottom of the chuck; you may need to rotate the bit to make
sure the flats of the hex shank are aligned (the O-ring of the chuck might show resistance).
l
Apply 0.5 Nm to 1 Nm of torque on the flats of the bit holder knob and bit holder chuck to secure the screwdriving bit.
Tip
An alternative way to proceed in the absence of a torque wrench or torque meter isto manually tighten the assembly
until it no longer turns, and to unscrew half a turn.
