During the test, test object and test leads must not be touched!

4.5 External operating elements
The following elements serve for personal safety, remote controls and for a faster operation of the testing
device:
1. external safety contact
The test process can be started by means of a safety contact. Depending on the configuration of the testing
device, this could be done e.g. by closing a protection device.
2. foot switch
The test process can be started by means of a foot switch. Depending on the configuration, the foot switch
can also be used for starting the HV test.
3. external start button for HV test
Via the external start button, the high voltage test can be started parallel to the HV start at the device.
4. external stop button for HV test
Via the external stop button, the high voltage test can be stopped parallel to the HV off at the device.
5. external additional input
For controlling pneumatic processes and other automatic processes, e.g. at automatic contactings
(additional processes) and for acknowledging visual checks
6. switch inside high-voltage test pistol
The test process of the high-voltage test can be started via the switch inside the pistol.
7. starting command via NetCom XI
If, in the GLP2 i/e, all safety conditions are kept, the tester can be started via NetCom XI.
All connections listed above are located at the front or rear panel of the testing device. Please refer to
chapter 7.
