4.11 Backup Battery Connection
The Model 6712 is a 12 VDC 7AH gell cell battery available from Silent Knight for use with
the 4821/4820. (Note that the battery does not charge when system power is off.)
A low battery trouble condition exists if the battery voltage drops below 10.2 VDC.
The nominal charging voltage is 13.65 VDC (range is 13.5 to 14.0).
This manual contains a worksheet for determining battery size. See Section 4.9.4 for more
information.
Note: If you are installing a battery in a system that has a tamper switch, an alarm may occur when you install
the battery (because the door must be open when power is applied).
