5.4 Touchpad Buttons
Table 5-1 describes the functions of the touchpad buttons. The operation of the feature
depends on the type of menu system (toggle or interactive) that is being used and whether the
system is single- or multi-area. See Section 5.5 for more information.
Table 5-1: Touchpad Function Buttons
Key Normal Mode Function
Toggles zone status between delayed and instant. If the system is armed and the No Delay
LED is on, zones programmed for entry and exit delay will be instant.
Activates/deactivates interior zones.
- Enter data. Used primarily for entering access codes. is used to turn the system OFF and
is used to turn the system ON.
View system status. Displays active alarms and trouble conditions. Also displays not ready
zones.
This key is used to bypass individual zones and to check which zones have been bypassed.
Displays event history.
Allows Code 2 users to arm or disarm the system.
Silences alarm and trouble audio at speakers and touchpads.
Controls whether or not a chime tone will be generated when someone trips a chime zone
while the system is disarmed.
Erases a mistake made while entering a code or command.
Conducts a variety of tests (see Section 5.9 for descriptions of the tests). In programming
mode, accepts programming changes. Also used to exit interactive menus.
Police emergency key. If enabled through programming, transmits an alarm to the central
station personnel who then dispatch the police. This key must be held for one full second.
Fire emergency key. If enabled through programming, transmits an alarm to the central
station personnel who then dispatch the fire department. This key must be held for one full
second.
Auxiliary emergency key. If enabled through programming, transmits a special alarm to the
central station personnel who then dispatch the proper authorities. This key must be held for
one full second.
For door access (appears on 4860C and 4205 touchpads only).
