CHECKING ENGINE OIL
1. Ensure the engine is on a level surface
2. If the engine has not been operated for a
prolonged period, run the engine for 5 minutes.
Turn off the engine and wait for 10 minutes and
then check the oil level.
3. Check the oil level - is within the level range
indicated on the oil dipstick . If the oil level is low,
refill to the Max mark on dipstick.- (Fig.E.1)
Note: When refilling, use the recommended grade
of engine oil only.
4. Do not mix up with different brand and grade of
oil.
5. Do not use contaminated lubricants.
CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND FILTER
1. Start and run the engine until it is warm.
2. Turn off the engine
3. Open the oil filler cap.
4. Place an oil pan below the sump, loosen and
remove the drain plug . Drain the engine oil.-
(Fig.E.3)
5. Using the oil filter remover/ installer tool ( ) loosen
and remove the oil filter.
6. Once the oil drained completely, screw the drain
plug in position and tighten to torque:
33 lbf.ft (45 Nm)
7. Apply clean engine oil to the surface of the rubber
gasket (oil seal) in the new oil filter.
8. Using the oil filter remover/ installer tool ( ) fit and
tighten the oil filter to torque: 12 lbf.ft (16 Nm).
9. Fill the engine oil. Do not over fill.
10. Screw the oil filler cap in position (Fig.E.4).
11. Start and run the engine for few minutes check
for leakage.
12. Turn off the engine. Check the oil level and add
oil if necessary. Do not over fill.
