SC213 Diesel Engines
TO REMOVE AND REFIT FAN
OEM Scope
TO REMOVE WATER PUMP
1. Drain the coolant by removing drain plug from
engine and radiator.
2. Remove Fan.
3. Slacken fan belt tensioner adjusting nut and
remove fan belt. (Fig.G.1 & G.2)
4. Loosen the hose clips and disconnect water pump
inlet and by-pass hoses.(Fig.G.3)
5. Loosen the water pump mounting setscrews
and remove the water pump alongwith setscrew.
(Fig.G.4 & 5)
Inspection
Check the water pump for any damage or wear.
Check the bearing rotation for sluggish and noisy
movement.
Check the seal for wear / damage.
Replace the water pump kit or water pump
assembly as necessary.
NOTE: If seal is damaged coolant will leak through
the tell - tale hole.
To Dismantle Water Pump
1. Remove the water pump pulley using a suitable
puller .
2. Press the water pump shaft complete with
bearings and impeller with suitable drift. Press
the shaft from the impeller side.
3. Remove the unitised seal from the shaft.
Note: The water pump shaft and bearings are integral
as one component and cannot be dismantled.
