SC213 Diesel Engines
To Remove the Fuel Injection Pump (Inline)
The fuel pump is secured to the back of the
timing case on the left-hand side of the engine
and the fuel pump driving gear is securely
attached to the shaft of the pump by three set
screws. The location of the gear to the pump
shaft adopter is determined by a dowel.
On the timing case front cover is an inspection
cover and removal of this cover gives access
to the setscrews securing the driving gear to
the pump.
Disconnect the throttle and stop lever
linkages
Disconnect battery terminal and close fuel
supply from tank to pump.
Remove the tappet cover with joint.(Fig.F.6)
Rotate the crank shaft and bring no.1
cylinder to TDC at compression stroke, mark
on crank pulley aligned with pointer on timng
case cover (No.2 Cylinder push rods tight and
No.1 cylinder push rods free). (Fig.F.7)
