SUMP
To Remove
1. Operate the engine until it is warm.
2. Remove the dipstick ( ).
3. Loosen and remove the sump drain plug ( ) and “O”
ring
4. Drain the oil completely.
5. Loosen and remove the setscrews ( ) which fasten
the sump to the cylinder block and rear oil seal
housing. (Fig.H.9)
6. Remove the sump (Fig.H.10)
7. Clean the sump and drain plug.
8. Clean the mating face of the sump and of the
cylinder block of sealant traces.
To Fit
1. Position the sump together with a new joint and
ensure the correct location with a setscrews on each
side.
2. Fit the remaining of the setscrews and tighten them
to torque 33 Nm (24 lbf ft). (Fig.H.12)
3. Fit the drain plug together with a new “O” ring and
tighten the plug to 35 Nm (26 lbf ft).
4. Fit the dipstick.
5. Fill the sump to the “MAX” level on the dipstick with
approved lubricating oil.
