SC213 Diesel Engines
OIL STRAINER AND SUCTION PIPE
The oil strainer is an integral part of the suction pipe.
No regular services are necessary but wash the strainer
when it is removed.
The suction pipe is normally a short pipe which is
fastened to the timing case cover.
OIL PUMP
Note: The oil pump is an integral part of the timing case
cover, Commonly it cannot be serviced. How ever the
pump rotors can be checked for its serviceability.
To Remove , Inspect and Ret
1. Remove sump.
2. Remove the strainer pipe ( ).
3. Remove the timing case cover. (Fig: J.12)
4. Using a suitable wrench, unscrew the screws from
oil pump end plate ( ).
5. Remove the end plate.
Note: The oil relief valve is located in the body of the
timing case cover. It is an adjustable plunger type valve
but unless special test equipment is available, no attempt
should be made to dismantle. (Fig: J.15)
